Overview

Registered Russian pharmaceutical. Clinical trials: cognitive impairment, post-stroke recovery, anxiety. AMPA/NMDA modulation for memory consolidation. Clinical comparative study vs piracetam showed superior outcomes at much lower doses.

Mechanism of Action

CPG (cycloprolylglycine) prodrug — converted to active metabolite after oral absorption. Modulates AMPA and NMDA glutamate receptors. Enhances cholinergic neurotransmission via acetylcholine sensitization. Upregulates BDNF and NGF. Enhances long-term potentiation (LTP). ~1000x more potent than piracetam per mg. Registered drug in Russia as Omberacetam.
