B7-33

B7-33 (Single-chain Relaxin Peptide Analogue)
Tissue RepairFDA: Not approved — investigational

Overview

Developed at the Florey Institute. Preclinical studies show potent anti-fibrotic effects in cardiac and renal fibrosis models with reduced hypotensive side effects vs native relaxin-2.

Mechanism of Action

Selectively activates RXFP1 as a biased agonist, engaging anti-fibrotic pERK1/2 signaling while minimizing cAMP-mediated vasodilation. Single B-chain design retains therapeutic anti-fibrotic activity.

Molecular Profile

~3500 Da

Key Research Findings

Biased RXFP1 agonist; reduces cardiac and renal fibrosis; less hypotension than relaxin-2; investigational.
